Physical wellbeing, with mental and social wellbeing are the core of your present health but also importantly your long-term health. We all know prevention of a disease where possible is far easier than treatment. In fact, there is increasing evidence that health promotion through improving our physical wellbeing with Exercise, Healthy eating and Healthy weight (including reducing your risk with Smoking, and Alcohol and drugs) is the most powerful treatment we can provide.

Professor Muir Gray has articulated this perspective in his “live longer better” campaign (Live longer better). In the section “Reduce your risk of…. “we demonstrate how simple lifestyle changes can make a profound difference in lowering your health risks with certain conditions (Reduce your risk of...).

There is also a page on Lifestyle changes which, while acknowledging how difficult it can be to make changes, provides some ideas to support you in any changes.

Though they do not provide localised self-referral information they do provide good general information.
