Emergency support
If you have an urgent short-term emergency and are unable to buy immediate food, heating or lighting you can apply for Local Emergency Support. Emergency support | Family Information Service
Local Emergency Support is available through food banks, food vouchers, and utility meter top-ups.
If you need a referral or food voucher you can request this from a social worker, the emergency support team for the council or citizens advice in most cases (as you will see from the list some places do not require vouchers or a referral)
