Iver Medical Centre, along with Trewarden Avenue Health Centre will be closed on Friday 18th and Monday 21st April. We will be open again as usual on Tuesday 22nd April at 08.30am.

Health promotion

Disease prevention – screening

  • Cervical cytology: Support with cervical screening includes information and a helpline to help with having a smear. This also includes when and how you will be invited for cervical screening.
  • Child health surveillance with the support of our local health visiting team.

Smear Results
Smear test results take 6-8 weeks on average and are posted out to patients.

These clinics are run by our nurses for any patient with a long term condition.

We have qualified phlebotomists from Wexham Park Hospital running blood test clinics at the surgery.

Phlebotomy service
Self-book allowed for patients with regular blood test monitoring, otherwise on GP request / authorisation.
Appointments pre-book about 10 days in advance.
For urgent blood tests you may be asked to attend the drop-in phlebotomy clinic at Wexham Park Hospital. The phlebotomy clinics at the surgery are run on Tuesday and Friday mornings.

Baby Clinics
Baby clinics for well children with the Health Visitor are held at:

  • Iver Children’s centre on Tuesday morning

In practice self-referrals

There may be some support in the practice you can access directly without needing to go through a doctor or nurse. For example, this might include a NHS physiotherapist or voluntary service. NHS screening - national clinics

Many of the national screening programmes such as breast screening take place outside the practice, we fully support these national programmes and would encourage all our patients to take up these opportunities when you are invited.

Alternatives to services we no longer offer

For various reasons we may stop offering clinics and services that we have offered in the past. Any services we have stopped are included below:

Regrettably due to the increased demands on our service we are no longer able to offer an ear syringing service.  We have continued to offer this service for as long as we could without receiving any funding to do so but unfortunately the Partners have had to come to the difficult decision to prioritise the services for which we are contracted by NHS England. This procedure is not included in our GMS contract. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but we are sure you will appreciate that we need appointments for things that are specified within the ‘core contract of services that we have to provide’.
