We are committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, with reliable systems in place to prevent and protect people from a healthcare-associated infection. We also maintain and use our facilities and premises in a way to keep people safe and we manage waste and clinical specimens to keep people safe.
Policy
This commitment is backed up by an infection prevention and control (IPC) policy which all staff adhere to with regular staff training. We regularly review our audit processes, waste management, cleaning schedules and maintenance of equipment.
Audit
We have an IPC audit programme, so policies and procedures are effective and up to date. We address any evidence of issues identified by any audit.
Curtains
Curtains around examination couches are either disposable or re-usable.
Health care waste
We deal with waste appropriately, from the point of production to final disposal.
Sharps
Sharps are assessed and disposed of in the correct container.
Hand hygiene
Adequate handwashing facilities are available and easily accessible for all staff. This ensures washing hands in hot water using the correct technique. Liquid soap, paper towels and alcohol gel are available. Hand hygiene is included in staff training.
If you require further information regarding cleaning or wish to comment about the cleanliness of our premises, please raise this with our reception.
