Infectious disease outbreaks (including Measles)

We include on this page information on any important infectious disease outbreak. The information is divided up into two sections for each infectious disease outbreak. Firstly, there is practice information on any change in practice processes relating to the disease outbreak and secondly local and national information on the disease including any specific steps being suggested by the local health care system.

The practice and Measles

Please read our guidance below carefully as our protocols in certain areas have changed following Measles outbreak.

Due to recent NHS guidelines with regard to Measles, Denham Medical Centre advises any patients with fever and rash are potentially infectious and should be triaged with a telephone consultation.

Do not come to the surgery unless asked to do so following a telephone consultation.

Please call 01895 832012 or 01753 653976 to book your telephone appointment. You will not be given a time, but you will be put on the list for a call back the same day. If the doctor/nurse needs to see you, you will be given a time to come in.

If patients need to attend the surgery with fever and rash they will be directed immediately to a side room or asked to stay in their car and wait to be called.

Thank you for your cooperation and your understanding as we implement this new system.

If you do have an appointment to see a Nurse or are asked by a GP to come in, please bring your own face covering and wear this whilst in the surgery (all patients aged 3 or over). A face covering should cover your mouth and nose while allowing you to breath comfortably.

Thank you to you all for your patience and understanding in these difficult times.
